Phase N/A

This study investigates speech recognition technology for people with Parkinson's Disease and other related conditions. Participants will be involved for the entire duration of the study, which is expected to be completed quickly, as most participants can finish in one to five recording sessions. The purpose of the study is to improve accessibility to speech-enabled devices like smart speakers and cell phones by collecting speech samples from individuals with Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Systems Atrophy, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Post-DBS, or other Parkinsonisms.

Participants will record their speech using a web-based tool by reading 400 sentences and answering 50 questions about daily life. These recordings will be securely stored and shared with companies and schools to enhance speech recognition technology. Participants will receive a gift card for every 150 recordings completed, with a potential total of $180. A mentor will guide participants through the process, and recordings can be done at any time.

  • Who can participate: Adults aged 18 or older with Parkinson's Disease or related conditions living in the United States can participate, except those in Washington, Texas, or Illinois due to privacy laws.
  • Study details: Participants will use a web-based tool to record speech by reading sentences and answering questions. A mentor will guide them, and they can record at their own pace. Participants are compensated for completing recordings.
