Phase N/A

This study looks at how well patients can get dermatology care through teledermatology (seeing a dermatologist using video calls) and how computers with artificial intelligence (AI) can help diagnose skin issues from photos. The study will use an app called My VA Images for patients at VA facilities in San Francisco, Decatur, and Aurora from 2021 to 2025 to send skin photos for dermatology consultations. The study aims to see if this improves access to care and how well AI can assist in diagnosing skin conditions from these images. Surveys will also be done to understand how ready veterans and staff are for this change.

  • This study will last from 2021 to 2025 and involve specific VA facilities.
  • Participants will use an app to send images for remote dermatology consultations.
  • Surveys will be conducted to assess satisfaction and readiness for teledermatology.
