This study is testing a mobile health app designed to help Black men with prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is when cells in the prostate gland grow uncontrollably. The app aims to help by providing culturally relevant information, monitoring symptoms, and sharing other patients’ experiences.
Participants will take part in online surveys when they join, and then again at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. A group will use the app at home for 12 months and will complete daily surveys about symptoms and weekly mood assessments for 3 months. Interviews at the end of the study will help gather opinions about the app's usefulness.
- The study lasts 12 months and involves multiple surveys.
- Participants will use a special app to track their health and mood.
- Feedback from participants will help improve the app.
Eligible participants are Black men with prostate cancer, who can speak English, and are either native-born, Caribbean-born, or African-born. Men from other races, those not diagnosed with prostate cancer, or those who cannot speak English cannot participate.
