Clinical Trial: RapidPulseTM Aspiration System
This study is testing a new system called the RapidPulseTM Aspiration System to help people who have had an acute ischemic stroke. A stroke can happen when a clot blocks blood flow in the brain. Doctors use a special procedure called a mechanical thrombectomy to remove this clot. The study is open to adults aged 18 to 80 who have experienced a stroke and can start treatment within 8 hours of symptoms appearing. The study lasts for 90 days, with check-ups on the first day after treatment, then again 5-7 days later, and finally around three months after the stroke.
Key Points:
- Study participation lasts for 90 days with 3 main visits.
- Target is 170 participants but could go up to 340.
- Participants must attend post-treatment check-ups as scheduled.
Not everyone can join; people with certain health issues like intracranial hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain) or intracranial atherosclerotic disease (narrowed arteries in the brain) cannot participate. Participants should be aware of the potential risks and benefits before joining.
