This study is for people with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. The study tests if a medicine called vicadrostat, when taken with another medicine, empagliflozin, can lower heart risks. People in the study are split into two groups by chance. One group will take vicadrostat and empagliflozin, while the other takes a placebo (a harmless pill that looks like the real one) with empagliflozin. The study lasts up to 4 years and 3 months. Participants take one tablet daily, continue their regular medicines, and visit the study site for health checks and blood tests. Doctors track any heart-related events or side effects.
- **Length**: Up to 4 years and 3 months with regular visits.
- **Participation**: Randomly assigned to medicine or placebo.
- **Monitoring**: Regular health and blood tests, tracking side effects.
This study is not for people with a history of heart failure. Participants must be 18 or older and women must use effective birth control. Certain medications and heart conditions may exclude someone from participating.
