This study involves testing a drug called sacituzumab govitecan-hziy (SG) for patients with advanced triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), a type of breast cancer that doesn’t have any of the three common types of receptors known to fuel most breast cancer growths. The main focus is to see if a different dose and schedule of SG is safe and helps treat the cancer.
The study has two phases. Phase 1 checks the initial safety and how the drug moves and works in the body, known as pharmacokinetics (PK). Phase 2 looks deeper into safety and effectiveness.
- Participants must be 18 or older and have advanced TNBC. Those in Phase 1 should have tried and not responded to existing treatments, while Phase 2 participants should not have had prior treatments for advanced disease.
- The study requires tests like CT or MRI scans to measure the disease, and participants need to be in good health with a performance status score of 0 or 1.
- Patients may not join if they’ve been treated with similar drugs in the past. They will be checked to ensure they are suitable for the study.
