Phase N/A

This study focuses on helping African-American men with prostate cancer better understand their treatment options. Prostate cancer is a disease where cancer cells form in the tissues of the prostate, a gland in the male reproductive system. The study will use interviews to see if a special educational booklet can help patients better understand their treatment and side effects after talking to their urologist (a doctor who treats urinary and male reproductive problems). The study will involve newly diagnosed patients with early-stage cancer. The goal is to see if the booklet can reduce confusion and help patients make better decisions about their care.

  • The study involves interviews with patients who have been newly diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer.
  • Participants receive a booklet designed to be easy to read and understand.
  • Those with a medical degree, head injuries, or dementia cannot participate.
