Phase 3

This study looks at how well a new drug, NBI-1117568, works for adults with schizophrenia compared to a placebo (a pill with no medicine in it). Schizophrenia is a brain disorder that can make it hard to think clearly, manage emotions, and interact with others. The study is for adults who are having a sudden worsening of their schizophrenia symptoms and need to stay in the hospital.

  • Participants must stay in the hospital during the study and follow all instructions.
  • Participants cannot use other antipsychotic medications while in this study.
  • Participants with certain medical conditions or a history of drug or alcohol abuse cannot join the study.

The study will compare the effects of NBI-1117568 to a placebo to see if it helps improve symptoms. Participants will need to stop other antipsychotic drugs before joining. It's important that participants are not at risk of hurting themselves or others and don't have serious health issues. Always discuss with your doctor before deciding to join a clinical study.
