Phase 2

This study is testing a medicine called pemigatinib for adults with pancreatic cancer that has spread. Pancreatic cancer is when cells in the pancreas grow uncontrollably. Researchers want to see if pemigatinib can stop abnormal genes, called FGFR genes, that help cancer grow.

Patients take pemigatinib by mouth for 14 days in a 21-day cycle. They will have regular check-ups, including blood tests and scans like MRI or CT scans. The study checks if the cancer shrinks and monitors for any side effects.

  • The study lasts as long as the medicine works without bad side effects.
  • Patients visit the clinic regularly for scans and tests.
  • Participants must be adults with certain types of pancreatic cancer gene changes.

Before joining, patients should talk with their doctors about risks, like not knowing all possible side effects, and benefits, like potential cancer control. The study is for those who have tried other treatments that didn’t work or couldn’t be tolerated. Participants must be able to take oral medication and agree to regular follow-ups.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.
