This study investigates the effects of an investigational medication for people with Adjustment Disorder related to cancer or other illnesses like ALS, MS, PD, or IPF. The purpose of this study is to see if a single dose of the investigational medication can reduce depressive symptoms or a mix of depressive and anxiety symptoms. Participants will be in the study for a set period, but the exact duration is not specified here.
Participants will receive either the investigational medication or an active placebo, which is a substance that looks like the investigational medicine but does not contain any active medicine. The study will observe changes in symptoms and require participants to continue their usual care while participating, ensuring they are stable on any current treatments.
- Who can participate: Participants must have a history of Adjustment Disorder for at least 4 weeks due to cancer or other specified illnesses. They should be able to care for themselves, have normal cognitive function, and be stable or willing to delay new treatments. Both males and females must not plan for pregnancy during the study.
