This study is testing a new medicine called praliciguat for adults with a kidney disease named Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). FSGS is a condition where the kidneys get scarred and don’t work well. The study has two main parts. First, for 24 weeks, participants will either get praliciguat or a placebo (a pill with no medicine) without knowing which one. After that, for another 24 weeks, everyone will get praliciguat. If the medicine helps, participants may join a longer study to make sure it’s safe.
- The study lasts a total of 48 weeks, with potential for a longer extension.
- Participants need to have certain kidney health levels and be on certain medications.
- People with certain conditions like sickle cell disease or high blood sugar (HbA1c >8%) cannot join.
