Rise With Resilience Study is exploring how mindfulness might help college athletes recover better after surgery due to sports injuries. Mindfulness is a practice of focusing on the present moment, which can help with stress and well-being. The study will involve athletes using the Community Resiliency Model® (CRM), a program that teaches skills to handle stress and recover mentally and physically.
Researchers will see if these mindfulness practices help athletes return to their sports faster and feel better overall. Athletes will be randomly assigned to either receive mindfulness training or the usual written instructions after surgery. They will wear a wrist device to track recovery, and answer health and pain surveys over three months.
- Duration: 3 months of follow-ups after surgery.
- Participation: Completing surveys in person or via email.
- Eligibility: College athletes aged 18-26, having orthopedic surgery.
