Phase 3

Study Summary: This research is focused on schizophrenia, a mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. The study is investigating the effectiveness of a medication called iloperidone long-acting injection (LAI), which is a treatment that is given to patients over a period of time, in preventing the worsening of symptoms. A placebo, which looks like the medicine but doesn't have any active ingredients, will be used for comparison. Participants need to be adults aged 18 to 65 who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia according to the DSM-5, a guide used by doctors to diagnose mental disorders. Participants should not have any other psychiatric disorder that was the main focus of treatment in the last six months.

  • This study involves receiving injections of the test drug or placebo.
  • Participants must visit the study site regularly for check-ups.
  • There might be some side effects from the medication.
