This study is testing a medicine called tenapanor for treating Chronic Idiopathic Constipation (CIC) in adults. CIC means you have trouble with bowel movements, but doctors don't know why. The study lasts for 26 weeks with an extra 4 weeks for safety checks.
During the study, you will take tenapanor twice a day, but you might get a placebo, which is like a pretend pill. You won't know which one you're getting. You'll use an eDiary on a computer, tablet, or smartphone to track your bowel movements and how you feel. You’ll also visit the study center every 2 to 6 weeks for check-ups.
- Study lasts 26 weeks, plus 4 weeks for follow-up.
