Phase N/A

This study looks at how eating cottonseed oil (CSO) 3 times a week affects heart health. **Cottonseed oil** is a type of oil used in foods that can help improve cholesterol, which is a fat in your blood. High cholesterol can lead to heart disease. The study compares different amounts of CSO and no oil at all. People in the study will drink shakes and eat snacks with CSO for 56 days. They will visit the study center every two weeks for short check-ups and twice for longer visits to eat breakfast and have blood drawn.

  • Participation Length: 56 days
  • Visits Required: 6 visits (some long, some short)
  • Risks: Ensure no allergies to ingredients like cottonseed oil

This study helps see if using CSO can lower risks of heart diseases without changing inflammation or blood clotting. It's for people aged 25-75 who might be at risk for heart problems due to high cholesterol or being overweight. If you have certain conditions or take certain medicines, you might not be eligible.
