Cabozantinib in Combination With Pembrolizumab for the Treatment of Patients With Locally Advanced, Metastatic, or Unresectable Adrenal Cortical Cancer

Exploring new treatments for advanced adrenal cortical cancer.

Phase 2

This study is about testing two drugs, cabozantinib and pembrolizumab, to see how well they work together against a type of cancer called adrenal cortical cancer. This cancer can spread to nearby tissues (locally advanced), move to other parts of the body (metastatic), or be in a place where surgery can't remove it (unresectable).

Cabozantinib stops certain signals that help cancer cells grow. Pembrolizumab helps the immune system fight cancer. Combining these two might work better than using each one alone.

Key Points:

  • Participants take cabozantinib daily and pembrolizumab every 21 days.
  • Regular check-ups, including scans and blood tests, are required throughout the study.
  • The study follows participants for up to 2 years to monitor effects and safety.

Participants must be 18 or older, have adrenal cortical carcinoma, and meet specific health criteria. It's important to know that risks and benefits will be discussed, and informed consent is needed to join the study.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
