This study is for adults and teens with a kidney condition called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). FSGS is when parts of the kidney filter become scarred. The study aims to see if a medicine called BI 764198 helps people with this condition. Participants will be randomly placed in one of two groups: one group will take the BI 764198 tablet, while the other will take a placebo, which looks like the real tablet but has no medicine in it.

Participants will take one tablet daily for up to 2 years, alongside their usual FSGS medication. Every 3 months, they'll visit the study site for health checks and kidney tests, including urine samples.
