Precision Medicine in Neurodegenerative Diseases Study

This study focuses on diseases like Parkinson's Disease (PD) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD), which are common in older people. These diseases make it hard to move or remember things. Scientists want to find better ways to diagnose and treat these conditions early. They also want to understand how Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) might be connected to these diseases. The study involves several research centers. They will look at patient samples and information to find markers that show early signs of these diseases.

  • This study is observational, meaning researchers watch and record information without interfering.
  • Participants will not receive new treatments; the focus is on diagnosis and monitoring tools.
  • Researchers seek to develop minimally invasive diagnostic kits and monitoring systems for early detection.

Eligible participants include those with specific signs of PD or AD, such as tremors or memory issues, but not those with other neurological disorders. This research is crucial for improving early diagnosis and care for people with these diseases.

Learn more about clinical trials

What is a clinical trial?

A clinical trial is a study designed to test specific interventions or treatments' effectiveness and safety, paving the way for new, innovative healthcare solutions.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?

Clinical trials follow strict ethical guidelines and protocols to safeguard participants' health. They are closely monitored and safety reviewed regularly.
