Phase N/A

This research is about checking if a Mediterranean diet can help manage weight and improve health in Parkinson's patients who've had a specific brain surgery. Parkinson’s disease is a condition that affects movement, and sometimes surgery called Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is done to help. This surgery involves placing electrodes in the brain to help control symptoms. After surgery, patients might gain weight due to changes in eating and activity levels. The study will last for three months.

  • Participants will be divided into two groups: one will follow a Mediterranean diet, and the other will stick to their usual diet.
  • They will have several check-ups, including before surgery and then at 1, 2, and 3 months after surgery.
  • Key assessments include body measurements, appetite, and quality of life.

The study aims to see if following the Mediterranean diet helps manage weight and improve other health aspects. Participants should be between 45-64 years old, have had the surgery, and must not have other conditions requiring special diets.
