Study Objective: This study looks at how exercise affects people with Parkinson's Disease (PD) using a special device called the PerceptTM PC neurostimulator. This device helps researchers see changes in the brain during exercise.
Method: The study will use something called adaptive Deep Brain Stimulation (aDBS). This means the device can adjust how it works based on signals from the brain. Specifically, it will look at signals from a part of the brain called the subthalamic nucleus. The focus will be on helping reduce the worsening of PD symptoms during and after exercise.
- Study Length: The exact length of the study isn't mentioned, but participants will need to complete certain exercises.
- Participation Requirements: Must have specific implants (Medtronic DBS Sensight and Percept IPG) and be able to exercise.
- Risks: Participants must understand and consent to the study, as it involves their brain and exercise abilities.
Only those with the necessary implants and who can complete the exercises can join. This study will help us learn if aDBS can help manage PD symptoms better during exercise.
