Algorithm Guided DBS Programming in Parkinson's Patients

Exploring new DBS programming for Parkinson's through a clinical trial.

Phase N/A

Parkinson's disease is a condition that affects the brain and makes it hard to move. In this study, patients who have already had Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) will try a new way of setting up their treatment using a computer program called StimSearch. DBS involves placing small devices in the brain to help control movement. Doctors want to see if using the computer program is better or faster than the usual way of setting up DBS.

In the study, patients will first be set up using the new computer program and then try the usual method. The study will measure how well each method works and how long it takes.

  • The study involves switching between two programming methods to compare results.
  • It focuses on patients with confirmed Parkinson's and requires informed consent.
  • Patients with certain mental health issues cannot participate.

This study helps doctors find better ways to help people with Parkinson's disease. If you have Parkinson's and meet the requirements, you might consider participating.
