Phase N/A

The ActiLiège-Adult study is looking at how people with movement problems do in everyday life. They are studying 300 adults with neurological (nerve-related) or metabolic (body energy use-related) diseases. These problems can make it hard to move, like walking or using arms. The study uses a Syde® wearable device, which is like a watch worn on the wrist or ankle, to track how people move over time. The goal is to understand how well the device measures movement compared to usual tests done in doctor's offices.

  • Study lasts up to two years
  • Wear a special device to track movement
  • Regular checkups every six months

Participating patients must be able to walk a little (10 meters), have certain conditions like Myotonic Dystrophy or Charcot-Marie-Tooth, and agree to follow all study rules. There are some exclusions, such as recent surgery or other medical issues. This study helps find new ways to measure how well treatments for movement problems work in real life.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
