This study is looking to understand more about certain neurological conditions by studying DNA. PSP stands for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, CBS is Corticobasal Syndrome, and MSA is Multiple System Atrophy. These are brain disorders that affect movement and other functions. Researchers will collect blood samples from up to 1,000 adults with these conditions to study their genetics. They will use a special technique called whole genome sequencing to look at DNA, but this is not the same as medical testing you get at your doctor’s office. The study is safe with very low risk. This research might help us understand these diseases better and could lead to new treatments in the future.
- The study will not change your current medical treatment.
- It involves only a blood sample and surveys.
- Participants can learn about their genetic results if they choose to.
To join, you must be 35 or older and have or be related to someone with these conditions. People with recent blood transfusions or some blood cancers cannot participate.
