We're studying a new way to help people with Parkinson's disease (PD) called Vibrotactile Coordinated Reset (vCR). This therapy uses a special device, the Vibrotactile (VT) Touch, which sends gentle vibrations through your fingertips. The goal is to improve movement problems in PD and possibly reduce the need for more Parkinson's medication. Unlike deep brain stimulation (DBS), which is a surgery, vCR is non-invasive, meaning no surgery is needed. Participants will try both real and pretend (sham) vibrations to see how well it works. We're looking for 30 people aged 45-85 with PD to try it.
- The study lasts several weeks and includes different sessions to test the therapy.
- Participants need to travel to the clinic for appointments, so living nearby is important.
- No surgical procedures are involved, just using a device on your fingers.
This study could be a helpful option if you have Parkinson's and are looking for new treatments without surgery. Check if you meet the criteria and talk to your doctor about joining!
