The study looks at why some people with Parkinson's disease (PD), a brain disorder that causes movement problems, have trouble walking smoothly, called freezing of gait (FOG). *Deep brain stimulation (DBS)* is a treatment that involves placing a device in the brain to help control movement. This research uses a special DBS system that can measure brain signals called *local field potentials (LFPs)* in people with PD. There are three experiments:
- Experiment 1 compares brain signals when starting to walk with and without help.
- Experiment 2 looks at brain signals during smooth movements and freezing moments in people with FOG.
- Experiment 3 compares brain signals during quick hand or foot movements.
Key Points:
- Participants can join one or more experiments.
- You must have a specific DBS device and be able to walk 50 meters without help.
- People with certain health issues, like other brain disorders, are not eligible.
