Phase 0

This study is about a special exercise program for people with Parkinson's Disease. Parkinson's is a brain disorder that affects movement, causing symptoms like shaking and difficulty with balance. The 8-week program includes exercises like boxing (non-contact, just hitting bags) and games on a computer to help improve strength, balance, and thinking skills. Each session is an hour long and happens three times a week. It's led by a trained physical therapist. A heart rate monitor called Myzone™ helps track how hard participants are working during exercises. The study also has a "wait list" group that starts exercises after 6 weeks.

  • Length: The study lasts 8 weeks with 3 exercise sessions each week.
  • Monitoring: Heart rate monitors are used to ensure safe exercise intensity.
  • Participation: Participants must have Parkinson's, be stable on medication, and get medical clearance.

Participants will answer questions about their experience to help improve the program. This study aims to see if the exercises are helpful and if people like doing them.
