Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a brain disorder that gets worse over time and affects movement and thinking. Over 10 million people have PD worldwide. One way to help is by using Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). DBS is like a tiny pacemaker for the brain that helps control its signals. This study is looking at how different parts of the brain work together in people with PD to make DBS work better in the future.
People who want to join must be at least 21 years old and already planning to have DBS surgery as part of their usual care. However, anyone with other serious brain disorders, dementia, or who is pregnant cannot join.
- The study aims to improve DBS treatment for PD.
- Participants need to have DBS surgery planned.
- People with certain health issues or pregnant women are not eligible.
