Phase N/A

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a condition that affects movement and can make talking difficult. This study explores the link between how people with PD speak and how they understand speech. By understanding these connections, new therapies could be developed to help people with PD speak more clearly and understand others better. The study focuses on speech production (how we talk) and speech perception (how we understand speech). Sometimes, people with PD have trouble learning from the way others speak, which might affect their own speech.

Key Points:

  • Participants will record speech samples and do tasks related to speech learning.
  • The study looks at how well people understand and learn speech rate and intensity.
  • Open to U.S. residents with PD who speak North American English and use levodopa.

This research could help tailor therapies to individual needs, ensuring that treatments are more effective. Participants might benefit from personalized interventions that focus on areas they find challenging.
