This study is designed to help understand Parkinson's Disease (PD) and Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) better. PD is a brain disorder causing tremors, stiffness, and balance problems. MSA is a rare condition affecting movement, balance, and body functions. The study in Shanghai will involve 600 PD patients and 100 MSA patients. The main goal is to find early signs (biomarkers) of these diseases and see how they progress over time. This involves collecting detailed information through tests like brain scans (MRI), and collecting samples of blood and saliva.
- Visits: Participants will have check-ups every 6 months.
- Tests: Includes brain imaging and providing blood and saliva samples.
- Eligibility: Must have a confirmed diagnosis of PD or MSA to join.
The study does not involve treatment but will help doctors understand the diseases better and possibly improve future treatments. It’s a long-term commitment requiring regular visits and tests, but participation could contribute to important medical research.
