Phase N/A

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a condition where the brain gradually loses its ability to control movement. This study looks at how exercise affects inflammation in the brain of people with PD. Inflammation is the body's response to injury or harmful things, and it may make PD worse. Researchers think that exercise could help reduce this inflammation and improve life quality for those with PD.

The study will compare two groups: one that exercises regularly and intensely (PD-sport) and one that does not exercise much (PD-sedentary). They will check inflammation levels and how well people move and feel.

  • Study Duration: Participants will exercise for 4-16 weeks, with 3-4 sessions per week lasting 40-60 minutes.
  • Eligibility: Ages 40-80, diagnosed with PD, and able to exercise.
  • Exclusions: Other serious health conditions or smoking are not allowed.

Joining this study means you may help find out if exercise can be a helpful treatment for PD.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
