In this study, researchers are exploring a new way to help people with Parkinson's Disease (PD). Parkinson's can make it hard to use your hands well, which affects daily tasks. The study looks at exergaming, which means playing video games that make you move, to see if it can help improve hand function. They're trying something called a phygital approach. This means using physical objects like blocks along with digital games to make the exercises feel more real and engaging.
The study will have 30 participants with early-stage Parkinson's, divided into two groups: one using phygital exergaming and the other using only digital games. Both groups will do exercises for three months, with sessions lasting 30 minutes, three times a week. Researchers will measure how well participants can move their hands before and after the study with a test called the Box and Block Test.
- The study lasts for 12 weeks with sessions 3 times a week.
- Participants will work with physical objects and digital games.
- All sessions will be guided by a physiotherapist in a controlled environment.
