This study focuses on Parkinson's Disease (PD), a brain disorder that affects movement and balance, causing symptoms like shaking and stiffness. Many people with PD experience falls, which can lead to serious health issues. This research aims to find the best tools to predict fall risks in PD patients. Three types of tools will be compared: the Biodex Balance System (objective tool that uses machines), the Falls Efficacy Scale-International (FES-I) (self-reported tool where patients share their balance confidence), and the Mini-Balance Evaluation Systems Test (Mini-BESTest) (functional test that checks balance during different activities).
- The study includes people aged 40-80 with PD, willing to participate, and on stable treatment.
- Participants will record fall data and take various balance tests.
- Excludes people with other health issues that may affect results.
The study helps identify which method best predicts falls, aiding in early intervention and improving quality of life for PD patients.
