This study looks at how the Mediterranean Diet (MD) affects people with Parkinson's Disease (PD). PD is a brain disorder that affects movement and other functions. The MD is a healthy diet full of fruits, veggies, grains, and healthy fats. Researchers believe it might help with PD symptoms.
Participants will be split into two groups: one will stick to their regular diet, while the other will follow the MD for six months. The study checks if the MD can improve symptoms like movement issues and quality of life.
- Study Duration: 6 months with evaluations at the start and end.
- Participants: 44 people aged 40-85 years with PD.
- Requirements: Provide blood and stool samples, and follow a specific diet plan.
The study aims to see if the MD can help with PD symptoms and check its effects on things like the immune system and gut health. Participants need to be willing to change their diet if they are in the MD group, and fast before sample collections.
