Parkinson's Disease Study Details: This study focuses on helping people with Parkinson's Disease (PD) improve their walking (called "gait") and reduce feelings of anxiety and stress. It uses a special training method that combines Heart Rate Variability (HRV) feedback and Augmented Reality (AR). HRV measures how well the body can adapt to stress and is linked to better walking and less anxiety. AR creates a virtual environment where patients can practice and improve their skills safely.
The study will last 3 years and involves three main phases. Year one tests the AR environment on healthy people, year two involves PD patients to see how different settings affect them, and year three tests an AR training group against a control group.
- Duration: 3 years with multiple phases.
- Eligibility: PD diagnosis required; certain injuries or conditions may exclude participation.
- Risks and Benefits: Focus on improving walking and reducing anxiety, with non-invasive training.
