Ocular Microtremor (OMT) is a tiny eye movement not visible to the naked eye. This study explores OMT in people with Parkinson's Disease (PD) using a new handheld device called the iTremor ONE. This device uses a laser to measure OMT quickly and without touching the eye. The study will compare OMT in people with PD to healthy older adults. This could help doctors monitor PD better.
Participants will take part in a home-based test to measure thinking skills and movement. They will also visit a lab for more tests, including balance and walking, using special sensors. People will be tested both before and after taking their PD medication. The entire test using iTremor takes just three seconds. Ten participants will repeat the test one week later to check reliability.
- Study involves home-based and lab assessments.
- Test duration with iTremor is just three seconds.
- Participants include 40 people with PD, 20 with suspected PD, and 40 healthy adults.
