This study looks at impulsivity (acting quickly without thinking) in people with a sleep disorder called idiopathic REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (iRBD), which might be an early stage of Parkinson's Disease (PD). Researchers want to see if there are changes in the brain's structure and activity in people with iRBD by using a special scan called an fMRI (functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging) when they do tasks that test impulsivity. The study will compare healthy people, people with iRBD, and people with PD.
- The study needs 96 participants (24 in each group) who will undergo brain scans.
- Participants should not have a history of Parkinson's or other similar conditions.
- Those with mood disorders or certain medical implants cannot join.
The study aims to help understand brain changes in impulsivity and could help detect early signs of PD. Participants will be asked to perform impulsivity tasks and may undergo MRI scans. If you're interested, make sure you fit the criteria and are okay with the procedures involved.
