Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is a treatment where tiny electric currents are used to help with brain problems, like those in Parkinson's disease. Doctors noticed that some patients have trouble breathing after this treatment. This study wants to find out if DBS is the cause and what happens in the body when it does.
Patients with Parkinson's will be asked to join this study, including those getting DBS on different brain areas like GPi and VIM. The study includes tests before and after the surgery to check breathing and physical activity. A special test will be done with DBS turned on and off, and doctors will compare how brains connect through MRI scans.
- Study includes both pre- and post-surgery tests.
- Participants need to be at least 18 years old and able to consent.
- MRI scans and physical activity data will be collected.
