This study is investigating how aquatic therapy (exercise in water) can help people with Parkinson's Disease (PD). PD is a condition that affects the brain and causes symptoms like slow movements, shaky hands, and trouble balancing. The study is happening at Ankara City Hospital and includes 42 participants, who will be split into two groups. One group will do exercises at home, while the other will also do exercises in a warm pool. The study will look at how these exercises can help with walking, balance, posture, daily activities, pain, and feelings of sadness.
- The study lasts 6 weeks, with the pool group having supervised sessions 3 times a week.
- Participants will be tested before and after the study to check for improvements.
- Potential risks include not following the plan or reacting to pool chemicals.
The study uses special tools and surveys to measure changes in movement and feelings. It's the first study of its kind in Turkey, aiming to show that aquatic therapy can be a helpful treatment for improving independence in PD patients.
