Personalized rTMS in Cognitive Fluctuations of DLB Study: This study involves forty patients with Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB), a condition affecting memory and thinking. We use a technique called
repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (
rTMS), which uses magnets to stimulate the brain without surgery. The goal is to see if it helps with changes in alertness and awareness that people with DLB often experience. Participants will have 37 visits, including two sessions of rTMS per visit, for a total of 20 rTMS sessions per patient. They'll also have brain scans (MRI) and tests to check for changes in symptoms before and after the rTMS.
Key Points:
- This study involves 37 visits in total, including multiple brain scans and assessments.
- Participants will undergo a total of 20 rTMS sessions.
- Patients need to have a caregiver available to assist with the study requirements.
It's important to understand the study's aims and risks, and participants should be able to give informed consent. Some people cannot join, such as those with a history of seizures or certain medical devices.
