This study investigates intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
The study focuses on evaluating the safety of IORT when added to standard treatments like chemotherapy and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). It evaluates how IORT may improve local control of the cancer by delivering a concentrated radiation dose to the tumor area during surgery.
- Who can participate: Adults over 18 years old with localized pancreatic cancer may participate if they are eligible for chemotherapy, SBRT, and surgical exploration.
- Study details: Participants will receive a single dose of 15 Gy radiation during surgery using IORT, targeting the larger area around the pancreas called the Triangle Volume (TV).
- Study timelines: The study will last 3 months.
