Solid Tumor Analysis for HLA Loss of Heterozygosity (LOH) and Apheresis for CAR T- Cell Manufacturing

Investigating Human Leukocyte Antigen Loss of Heterozygosity in Solid Tumors and Apheresis for Future CAR T-Cell Therapy

Phase N/A

This study investigates solid tumors and how often they lose the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) using next generation sequencing. The purpose is to understand HLA loss in these tumors.

The study focuses on collecting and storing participants' T cells for potential future use in CAR T-cell therapy. It evaluates the possibility of using these stored cells to help manage the disease if it relapses.

  • Who can participate: Adults with confirmed solid tumors like colorectal, non-small cell lung, pancreatic, mesothelioma, or ovarian cancer that are metastatic or high risk for relapse may join. Participants must have specific HLA typing results and tumor tissue showing HLA loss.
  • Study details: Participants will undergo apheresis, a procedure to collect white blood cells. These cells will be stored for possible future CAR T-cell therapy. A placebo is not involved in this study.
  • Study timelines: The study will last up to 2 years.

FAQs

Learn more about clinical trials

What is a clinical trial?

A clinical trial is a study designed to test specific interventions or treatments' effectiveness and safety, paving the way for new, innovative healthcare solutions.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?

Clinical trials follow strict ethical guidelines and protocols to safeguard participants' health. They are closely monitored and safety reviewed regularly.
