Investigation of TPIAT for High-Risk Postoperative Fistula in Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

Recruiting
18 years and older
All
Phase 1/2

This study investigates the treatment for adenocarcinoma located in the pancreas region. The purpose is to evaluate a surgical approach that may help patients who are at high risk of complications after surgery.

The study focuses on assessing the effectiveness and safety of a procedure called Total Pancreatectomy with Intraportal Islet AutoTransplantation (TPIAT). It evaluates if this method can improve treatment outcomes and maintain metabolic control.

  • Who can participate: Adults 18 years and older with resectable adenocarcinoma in the pancreas region may participate. Key factors include a high risk of postoperative complications and a multidisciplinary team-approved resection strategy.
  • Study details: Participants will undergo a total pancreatectomy followed by islet autotransplantation. A placebo is not used in this study. This approach investigates reducing the risk of complications and improving access to further treatment.
