Profiling the Intratumoral Microbiome of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Based on EUS-FNB Tissue Samples and Exploring Its Impact on Tumor Diagnosis and Prognosis.

Studying Bacteria in Pancreatic Cancer

Recruiting
18-80 years
All
Phase N/A

This study investigates pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. It uses endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) to explore the microbiome within the tumor.

The study evaluates how well EUS-FNB can detect the microbiome in these tumors. It looks at the potential link between specific microbes or metabolites and patient prognosis or response to treatment.

  • Who can participate: Adults aged 18 to 80 years with suspected pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma based on imaging tests may participate. They must not have received any chemotherapy and must agree to sign an informed consent form.
  • Study details: Participants will undergo a routine EUS-FNB procedure. Researchers will use leftover tissue for microbiome analysis. A placebo is not used in this study.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
