Study on Gut Microbiota and Complications in Pancreatic Cancer Surgery

Recruiting
18 years and older
All
Phase N/A

This study investigates pancreatic cancer. It explores the potential link between gut bacteria and complications after a specific surgery called duodenocephalopancreasectomy (DCP).

The study evaluates whether certain bacteria are connected to risks of complications like pancreatic and biliary fistulas or infections. It examines the role of gut microbiota in these complications.

  • Who can participate: Adults aged 18 and older with resectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma who are eligible for surgical treatment can participate. Participants must have an ASA score of less than 4. They must provide informed consent.
  • Study details: Participants will undergo tests to analyze their gut microbiota before surgery. The study will look for bacteria linked to complications.
