This study investigates colorectal and pancreatic cancer. Participants will receive an investigational probiotic to understand its effects on the side effects of chemotherapy.
The focus is on evaluating the safety and effectiveness of the investigational probiotic in managing side effects related to chemotherapy. It explores how probiotics might influence the gut microbiome and overall patient well-being.
- Who can participate: Adults aged 19 and older with advanced colorectal or pancreatic cancer receiving oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy may participate. They should have an ECOG performance status score of 0-2 and a life expectancy of at least 3 months.
- Study details: Participants will consume probiotics and complete questionnaires about safety and side effects. They will provide blood and fecal samples. An inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine but does not contain any medicine may be used as a placebo.
- Study timelines: The study will last 12 weeks.
