This study investigates delayed gastric emptying (DGE) in patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy. The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of two different surgical techniques, antecolic and retrocolic gastrojejunostomy, on DGE.
The study evaluates the potential differences in the occurrence of DGE when using either the antecolic or retrocolic approach in gastrointestinal reconstruction. It focuses on understanding if one method may lead to a lower incidence of DGE.
- Who can participate: Adults over 18 undergoing elective pancreaticoduodenectomy who have signed a consent form can participate. Individuals under 18 or involved in other trials affecting the results are excluded.
- Study details: Participants will undergo either an antecolic or retrocolic gastrojejunostomy during surgery. The study will compare the occurrence of delayed gastric emptying between these two methods, with one group undergoing the antecolic technique and the other the retrocolic technique. A placebo is not involved in this study.
