Investigating Anesthesia Methods in Surgery

Recruiting
18 years and older
All
Phase N/A

This study investigates intraoperative hypotension in pancreatoduodenectomy. The purpose of this study is to compare general anesthesia with combined general anesthesia, which includes thoracic epidural, in patients undergoing this surgery.

The study evaluates the hemodynamic effects during surgery. It focuses on understanding the safety and effectiveness of different anesthesia techniques in managing blood pressure and related outcomes.

  • Who can participate: Adults aged 18 and older scheduled for elective pancreatoduodenectomy at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán may participate. Participants must not have contraindications for neuroaxial anesthesia.
  • Study details: Participants will receive either general anesthesia or a combination of general anesthesia with thoracic epidural. An inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine but does not contain any medicine may be used as a placebo.
