This study investigates the risk of pancreatic cancer in patients with type 2 diabetes. It compares those who start treatment with exenatide to those who begin other glucose-lowering medications that are not glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists.
The study evaluates the safety of these treatments by analyzing data from various sources across seven European countries. It focuses on understanding the potential link between these medications and the development of pancreatic cancer in a non-interventional setting.
- Who can participate: Adults aged 18 years or older with type 2 diabetes may participate. They must have data available for at least 12 months prior to starting the study medication.
- Study details: Participants will be observed based on their medical records to see if they develop pancreatic cancer after starting their medication. The study does not involve any new treatments or procedures and uses existing health data.
