Phase 0

This study investigates the detection of localized cancer by measuring the activity of different glycosidase enzymes in patients' plasma. It focuses on breast, prostate, and pancreatic cancers.

The study evaluates a diagnostic method using volatile organic compounds to identify glycosidase presence through ethanol detection, with the purpose of improving non-invasive cancer diagnostics.

  • Who can participate: Adults with untreated localized breast, prostate, or pancreatic cancer, as well as adults without any cancer, are eligible. Participants must not be minors, pregnant, or under legal protection.
  • Study details: Participants will provide blood plasma samples for analysis. For cancer patients, samples are taken before and after surgery.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
