Phase N/A

Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a blood condition where red blood cells become sickle-shaped and can block blood flow, causing pain and other complications. This study looks at songwriting as a way to help reduce anxiety in young people aged 11 to 18 with SCD. The idea is to see if creating and playing music can be a fun and useful way to manage stress.

Who can join? Kids and teens who have SCD, are treated at a children's clinic, and can read and write in English. They should not have moved to adult care or have issues like hearing or sight problems that would make it hard to participate.

  • Length of Study: Participation details, like how many sessions, are not specified, but expect regular involvement.
  • Benefits: Opportunity to learn songwriting, which may help with anxiety.
  • Risks: No physical risks, but participants should be willing to engage in creative activities.
